Monday, March 31, 2008 was a Good News Day for Dress 4 Success. Dress 4 Success held an open house in it’s newly remodeled offices in Down town Los Angeles. The doors were open for all the public and media to see the transformation of the D4S Closet. Janet Lavender, the Founder and Senior Executive of the organization was ecstatic to see so much support. The lovely women of The Good News Foundation and California Closet were present to see all of their effort and support come to fruition. Both of these esteemed organizations believe in promoting things that bring forth opportunities for people to help themselves. Dorothy Lucy, of Good Day LA, Pat Harvey, of KCAL 9 News, Christine Devine, of Fox News 11, Wendy Burch of The Good News Foundation and Leslie Seigel of California Closet were there to show they care and have an interest in what happens to the people living in their community. Lavender gave a speech and elaborated on her past experiences with being homeless and not having the proper clothing to wear for a job interview. So many women and men have experienced being homeless and having a non-profit organization like D4S is a blessing for many low income individuals who would not be able to afford the clothing which is so badly needed when interviewing for a job opportunity. Dress 4 Success is doing great things and we cannot wait to see what is in store for 2008. Thanks to the Good News Foundation and California Closet we can expect much more. |
